Obituary


Kathy J. Kessler, 73, of Manilla, passed away Wednesday, August 31, 2022 at Ashford Place.

Born August 7, 1949 in Shelbyville, she was the daughter of Max Conover and Marion (Avery) Conover.  She married Larry J. Kessler on October 19, 1979 and he survives.

Other survivors include 3 children- Shawn Comstock of North Vernon, Jeramie Kessler of Columbus, Melanie Walters (husband Tawan) of Bowling Green, Kentucky; a brother Kim Conover (wife Karen) of Geneva, a sister Vicki Skillman of Cummings, Georgia; 7 grandchildren- Codey Comstock, Carrisa Foster (husband Ethan), Bethany Stephens, Kami Stephens, Matthew Stephens, Scottie Kessler, Chelsie Kessler; and several great grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by her parents, a son Craig Comstock, and a brother Michael Conover.

Mrs. Kessler was a lifelong resident of this area, and graduated from Southwestern High School in 1969.  She was an executive assistant with NAWC/Raytheon in Indianapolis for 30 years, retiring in 2015. Kathy enjoyed raising and showing miniature horses.  She loved animals, and also enjoyed decorating for Halloween and Christmas.

Memorial services will be 6:00 pm on Monday, September 12, 2022 at Glenn E. George & Son Funeral Home, 437 Amos Road, with Rev. David Humphrey officiating.  Friends may call on Monday afternoon from 3:00 pm until the time of the service, at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, please make contributions to the Alzheimer's Association or the Susan J. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation, in care of the funeral home.
