Betty J. "Jody" Popplewell, 79, of Waldron, passed away Saturday, June 29, 2019
at her residence.  Born July 6, 1939 in Shelbyville, she was the daughter of Charles
Clarence Jeffries and Mary Margaret (McColley) Jeffries.
Survivors include 5 children- Brad Popplewell (wife Merry) of Shelbyville, Rhonda Winkler
(husband Daren) of Shelbyville, Julia Ping (fiancé Ronnie Johnson) of Shelbyville, Becky 
Johnson of Shelbyville, Shari Popplewell of Waldron; 2 sisters- Katie Willey of Shelbyville,
Peggy Miller of Nicholasville, Kentucky; 8 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren, and 3 
 great great grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by her parents, 4 brothers, 3 sisters,
 great granddaughter Destiny Popplewell, and her beloved pets Snapper and Badboy.
Mrs. Popplewell had lived in this area her entire lifetime, and graduated from Shelbyville High
School in 1957.  She had been a book keeper for the State of Indiana for 40 years, retiring
in 2001.
Jody enjoyed playing Bingo, cookouts and get togethers with her family, and cherished the time 
she spent with them.
Funeral services will be 11:00 am Thursday, July 4, 2019 at Glenn E. George & Son Funeral Home,
437 Amos Rd., with Pastor Merry Popplewell officiating.  Burial will be in Forest Hill Cemetery.
Friends may call on Wednesday evening, July 3, 2019 at 4:00 pm until 8:00 pm.
Memorial contributions can be made to American Heart Association, in care of the funeral home.
