Cecila L. Boring

Cecila L. Boring, 94, of Shelbyville, passed away Friday, May 31, 2019 at Our Hospice Inpatient Facility in Columbus. 
Born on June 18, 1924 in Shelby County, she was the daughter of Charles R. Boger and Mary Gosch Boger, She married Marvin Boring on February 15, 1948 and he passed away on February 12, 2009. 
Survivors include two children; daughter Kimberly Halstead of Shelbyville; Timothy Boring of Fountaintown; 1 sister, Lois Byrnes of Shelbyville, and 2 grandchildren; Brittany(Michael) Marye of Shelbyville; Lindsay (Josh) Devine of Shelbyville; 3 greatgrandchildren; Taylor Pope, Jordan Marye, and Kash Taylor. 
She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, daughter, Denice Ann, sisters: Martha Zinser and Evelyn Jackson, and brothers; Lawrence Boger and Gene Boger. 
Mrs. Boring was a lifetime resident of Shelby County and graduated from Waldron High School where she was Valedictorian of her class. She was a bookkeeper for F & M Oil Company of Carrollton. She was a member of the Carrollton United Methodist Church since 1950.  
She enjoyed spending her winters in Florida since 1981.  Cecila (Ces) was  an avid reader, she loved playing Bridge with her friends at McKay Manor, and enjoyed spending time with the Fun Bunch. Ces and Marvin spent many winters in Florida, and enjoyed traveling with their family. She and Marvin were very generous in their giving to many different local organizations. 
Funeral services will be 1:00 PM Tuesday, June 4, 2019 at Carrollton United Methodist Church, 1060 U.S. 52, Fountaintown, IN 46130 with Pastor Chris Dourson officiating. Visitation is
at the church from 11:00am  until the time of the service. Burial will be in New Palestine Cemetery.
Memorial donations may be made to the Carrollton United Methodist Church or the Blue River Foundation in care of the funeral home.
