Don Brown Obituary


Don D. Brown, 86, of Shelbyville, passed away Saturday, November 9, 2019 at Franciscan 
St. Francis in Indianapolis. He was born in Crawford County, Indiana on August 30, 1933
and graduated from New Albany High School.
He was the son of the late Cecil & Cloah (Wright) Brown of New Albany.  He married the former
E. Jean (Holman) King of Indianapolis on November 25, 1958.  She preceded him in death.  He
then married Alice K. (Fisher) Brandt on September 12, 2009, and she survives.  
Other survivors include two sons- Nick Brown (wife Cozette), Randy Brown (wife Fannie), one daughter
Mitzy Book (husband Ed), five  grandchildren- Justin, Julia, Jeena, Jessa, Derek, and 3 great grandchildren.
Mr. Brown served in the US Army from 1953-1955.  He moved to Shelby County in 1962, where he was 
involved in the gospel music ministry as pianist in various churches and played for 22 years on a monthy
schedule at the Heritage House and Waldron Nursing Home.  He retired in 1998 from AMS Heating & Air
Conditioning Co. of Indianapolis, as a commercial service technician.  H was a member of Faith Trinity Pentecostal 
Church of Shelbyville.
Don was a jack of all trades and could fix anything.  He loved playing the piano and dearly loved his dog
Gidget.  He was the best dad you could ask for.
Funeral services will be 11:00 am on Saturday, November 16, 2019 at Faith Trinity Pentecostal Church,
505 W. Pennsylvania St., with Pastor Perry Fouts officiating.  Military rites will be conducted by a local veterans
organization.  Visitation will be observed on Friday evening, November 15, 2019 from 4:00 until 8:00 pm at the church.
