Dorothy J. Furgeson

Dorothy J. Furgeson, 90, of Shelbyville, passed away Thursday, August 8, 2019 at Aperion
Health Care.
Born March 19, 1929 in Johnson County, she was the daughter of Sylvester Wilson and Jessie
(Coombs) Wilson.  She married Perry W. Furgeson on June 23, 1973 and he survives.
Other survivors include: daughters Mary Ellen VanSickle (husband Terry) of Shelbyville, Lora
Furgeson of Shelbyville, son Scott Furgeson (wife Susan) of Shelbyville; 2 brothers- Ray Wilson of Morristown,
Russell Wilson (wife Helen) of Columbus; and 2 grandchildren- Maryalice Furgeson and Drew 
Furgeson.  She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers Robert Wilson, Harold Wilson,
sisters-in-law Harriet Wilson & Reba Wilson.
Mrs. Furgeson had lived in this area for 60 years, after moving from Warsaw, Indiana.  She had
attended Mt. Auburn High School, and had been a factory worker with Admiral/Rockwell for 13
year and also with KCL Corporation for 15 years, retiring in 1995.
Dorothy was a master basket maker, and enjoyed working picture and word search puzzles. She
loved traveling and cruising.  She and her husband had taken a total of 15 cruises over the years.
A Celebration of Life will be 7:00 pm on Tuesday, August 13, 2019 at Glenn E. George & Son Funeral 
Home, 437 Amos Road, with Rev. Robert Campbell officiating.  Burial will be in Miller Cemetery. 
Friends may call at the funeral home on Tuesday evening from 4:00 pm until the time of the service.
Memorial contributions can be made to the Shelbyville/Shelby County Animal Shelter, in care of 
the funeral home.
