Ethel Hilt Obituary


Ethel Mae Hilt, 94, of Shelbyville, passed away Saturday, December 21, 2019 at
 Ashford Place Health Campus.
Born July 1, 1925 in Stone's Crossing, Indiana (Johnson County), she was the 
daughter of Roy Browning and Lelia (Umbarger) Browning.  She married Kenneth
W. Hilt on May 8, 1943 and he preceded her on May 4, 2005.
Survivors include a daughter Sandra Wilson (husband Doug) of Shelbyville; 2 brothers-
Lester Browning of Shelbyville, Warren Browning (wife Norma) of Shelbyville; and a 
grandson Brady Wilson (wife Crysta) of Indianapolis.  She was preceded in death by
her parents, her spouse, brother Lewis Browning, and sister Sarah Phipps.
Mrs. Hilt was a lifetime resident of this area, and graduated from Shelbyville High School.
She was a home maker, and a member of Town & Country Christian Church, TOPS where
she represented her club in Houston, Texas for losing the most weight, and the Friendly 
Homemaker's Club.
Ethel enjoyed traveling, camping, and eating fried chicken at Oldenburg.
Funeral services will be 11:00 am on Friday, December 27, 2019 at Glenn E. George & Son
Funeral Home, 437 Amos Road, with Pastor Don Bennett officiating.  Burial will be in Forest
Hill Cemetery.  Friends may call at the funeral home on Thursday evening, December 26, 2019 
from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm.
Memorial contributions can be made to Town & Country Christian Church, in care of the funeral home.
