Frederick R. Mason, Jr.

Frederick R. Mason, Jr., 88, of Shelbyville, passed away Saturday, June 8, 2019 at
Heritage House Convalescent Center.
Born April 19, 1931 in Woonsocket, Rhode Island, he was the son of Frederick Rufus Mason, Sr. 
and Frances G. (Greene) Mason.  He married Betty J. (Elkins) Mason on December 22, 1974
and she preceded him on September 13, 2003.
Survivors include a son Paul G. Mason (wife Nancy)  of Shelbyville, daughter Kathy Marlott of 
Brookston, Indiana; 2 grandchildren, and 6 great grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by
his parents.
Mr. Mason had lived in this area for 30 years, after moving from Indianapolis.  He had
  worked  as a USDA Inspector for 15 years, and was also employed in accounting and as office 
manager at Banquet Dairy, &  Maple Hurst Dairy for several years retiring in 1990.  He graduated from
high school in Rhode Island and attended Butler University for 2 years.  He was a US Navy veteran, 
and a member of West St. United Methodist Church.
Graveside services will be 11:00 am on Saturday, July 6, 2019 at Forest Hill Cemetery with Pastor
Robert E. Keck  officiating.
