Linda Kay Bakes, 71, former St. Paul resident, passed away Wednesday, April 24, 2019 
at Franciscan Health in Indianapolis.
Born September 18, 1947 in Shelbyville, she was the daughter of Melvin Kuntz and Wilma
(Nichols) Kuntz.  She married John David Bakes on June 8, 1969 and he preceded her on
October 21, 2012.
Survivors include 3 children- Jamie Kuhn (husband Edward) of Shelbyville, Karen Lewis
(husband Michael) of St. Paul, Robin Ritter of Rush County; 5 siblings- Ronnie Kuntz (wife
Debbie) of Greensburg, Danny Kuntz (wife Kathy) of Shelbyville, Barbara Wheeler (husband 
Kenneth) of Plainfield, Diane Caudill (husband Daryl) of St. Paul, Melissa John (husband Greg)
of Parish, Florida; sister- in-law Rozella Bakes of St. Paul; 10 grandchildren, and 5 great
grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by her parents, and her spouse.
Mrs. Bakes had lived in this area her entire lifetime, and had graduated in 1967 from St. Paul
High School.  She was a member of Union Chapel United Methodist Church, and was a home maker.
Linda enjoyed sewing, being involved in her church activities, and spending time with her family
and grandchildren.
Funeral services will be 11:00 am, Saturday, April 27, 2019 at Union Chapel United Methodist Church, 
4647 N. County Road 700 W., St. Paul, with Pastor Joyce Barker officiating.  Visitation will be observed
from 9:00 am until the time of the service.  Burial will be in Union Chapel Cemetery at a later date.
Memorial contributions can be made to the donor's charity of choice, in care of the funeral home.
