Linda Gillaspy Obituary

Linda Jean Gillaspy, 71, of Shelbyville, passed away Monday, March 18, 2019
at her residence.
Born March 24, 1947 in Watseka, Illinois, she was the daughter of James Logan
Champley and Marjorie Belle (Hopkins) Champley. She married Stephen J. Gillaspy
on January 2, 1991 and he survives.
Other survivors include a daughter- Johanna Michael of Shelbyville; stepchildren Michael
Gillaspy of Jacksonville, Florida, Martin Gillaspy of Plainfield, Indiana, Jarissa Gillaspy of
Colfax, Indiana, Cary Gillaspy of Danville, Indiana; brother James Champley of Rossville,
Indiana, sister Margaret Heaton of Dayton, Ohio; and 6 step grandchildren. She was
preceded in death by her parents, and a son Nathan Champley.
Mrs. Gillaspy had lived in this area for 8 years after moving from Memphis, Indiana. She
had been employed as a LPN with various area nursing homes for several years.
Linda enjoyed decorating, collecting vintage dolls, and volunteering to decorate the display
cases at the Shelbyville Public Library.
No funeral services will be observed.
