Mable Zobel Obituary

Mable Sue Zobel, 92, of Fairland, passed away Thursday, March 14, 2019 at Cypress Run

in Morristown.

 

Born October 25, 1926 in Winchester, Tennessee, she was the daughter of John Wilkinson

and Mildred (Gunn) Wilkinson.  She married Paul J. Zobel on January 5, 1980 and he preceded

her on July 2, 2005.

 

Survivors include a daughter Teresa Burrows of Fairland; 2 sisters- Eva Turner of Tennessee,

Ginnie Riddle (husband James) of Tennessee, 2 brothers- Clyde Wilkinson (wife Pat) of Florida,

Harry Wilkinson of Tennessee; 2 grandchildren- James Abner (wife Angel) of Indianapolis, Laura

Taylor of Tennessee; 3 great grandchildren, and 2 great great  grandchildren. She was preceded

in death by her parents, spouse, daughter Linda Sue Burrows, and 9 brothers and sisters.

 

Mrs. Zobel had lived in this area since 1971, after moving from Indianapolis.  She had been a 

factory worker at Naval Avionics in Indianapolis for many years, until her retirement.  She was a

member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, and had been a volunteer at Major Hospital.

 

Sue loved gardening, flowers, cooking and baking for family gatherings, and volunteering at

her church.

 

Funeral services will be 1:00 pm on Monday, March 18, 2019 at Glenn E. George & Son Funeral

 Home, 437 Amos Road, with Pastor Matt Wickham officiating.  Visitation will be observed on

Monday morning from 11:00 am until the time of the service.  Burial will be in St. Vincent Catholic

Cemetery.

 

Memorial contributions can be made to the charity of the donor's choice, in care of the funeral home.
