Former Shelbyville resident, Mark A. Adkins, 57, of Muncie, passed away Monday, February 4, 2019
at Water's Edge Village in Muncie.
Born July 8, 1961 in Shelbyville, he was the son of Carl Francis Adkins and Wanda Ann (McRoberts)
Palmer. He married Rhonda (Alexander) Adkins on December 11, 1999 and she survives in South
Carolina.
Other survivors include daughter Jaymie Leighanne Dunn of Shelbyville, son Mark Alan Adkins II of
South Carolina; 2 stepdaughters- Cindy Davis-Anchors of Greensburg, Andrea Davis of Greenfield;
2 brothers- Shelby Dean Adkins of Plainfield, Carl Quentin Adkins of Shelbyville, sister Kellie Ann Keel
of Seymour; lifelong friend Steve Siscoe of Waldron; several aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews; 7
grandchildren- Taylor, Everette, Nathaniel, Izaiah, Michael, Kayanna, Gracelynn; and 3 step grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Mr. Adkins had lived in Muncie for 5 years, after moving from Shelbyville. He graduated from Shelbyville
High School in 1979 and attended Cornerstone Christian Fellowship Church, and was president of
Water's Edge Village Council.
Mark enjoyed working with and training horses, cooking, fishing, hanging out with friends, and spending
time with his family.
Funeral services will be 6:00 pm Friday, February 8, 2019 at Glenn E. George & Son Funeral Home,
437 Amos Road, with Pastor George Mitchell officiating. Friends may call at the funeral home on Friday afternoon
from 4:00 pm until the time of the service.
Memorial contributions can be made to the Shelbyville/Shelby County Animal Shelter in care of the funeral home.
