Former Shelbyville resident, Rev. James H. "Herb" Loveless, 81, of Decatur, Alabama, passed
away Thursday, January 31, 2019 at his residence.
Born August 9, 1937 in Somerset, Kentucky, he was the son of Delbert Loveless and Eromon
(Johnson) Loveless. He married Phyllis (Carrico) Loveless on July 2, 1957 and she preceded him
on September 5, 2014.
Survivors include 2 daughters- Robbin R. McKay of Shelbyville, Jeannetta Wright (husband Rev. Robert)
of Decatur, Alabama; siblings- Charles Loveless (wife Marcia) of Shelbyville, Carl Loveless (wife Sarah)
of Florida, David Loveless (wife Cecelia) of Anderson, Moneida George (husband Glenn) of St. Paul, Virginia
Braunagle (husband Connie) of Shelbyville; 4 grandchildren, 2 step grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren and
5 step great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, spouse, and sister Louise Ruby Buck.
Rev. Loveless had lived in Decatur for 18 months after moving from Shelbyville. He was a retired minister,
and pastored in Kentucky from 1983 until 2004. He also had been a self employed painter with Loveless &
Griffith Painting in Shelbyville for many years. He attended Tanner Pentecostal Church in Tanner, Alabama.
Herb loved fishing and attending church.
Funeral services will be 2:00 pm Tuesday, February 5, 2019 at Glenn E. George & Son Funeral Home, 437
Amos Road, Shelbyville, with Pastor Mark Myers officiating. Friends may call on Tuesday afternoon from 12:00 noon until
the time of the service. Burial will be in Lewis Creek Baptist Cemetery.
