Theodore E. "Ted" Evans, 84, of Shelbyville, passed away Monday, December 9, 2019
at AMG Specialty Hospital in Greenfield.
Born May 16, 1935 in Greensburg, he was the son of Edgar M. Evans and Elsie M.
(Palmer) Evans. He married Sharlene (Fisher) Mann Evans on December 17, 1987 
and she preceded him in 2009. He had previously been married to Ruth Lightfoot.
Survivors include 2 sons- Trent Evans (wife Kim) of Bloomington, Mark Taylor of
Osceola, Indiana, 2 daughters- Lisa McCarty (husband Michael) of Indianapolis, Teresa
Droeger (husband Bob) of Shelbyville; 3 brothers- Leslie Evans (wife Linda) of Decatur
County, Wayne Evans (wife Martha) of Decatur County, John Evans of Greensburg;
8 grandchildren, and 2 great grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by his parents, 
2 spouses, sister Betty Welch, and sister-in-law Gayle Evans.
Mr. Evans was a lifelong resident of this area, and graduated from Greensburg High 
School in 1954, and attended IUPUI.  He was an electrical engineer with GE/Wellman's
for 35 years, retiring in 2000.  He was a member of the Shelbyville Masonic Lodge and 
served in the Indiana National Guard.
Ted loved gardening and woodworking.
No funeral services will be observed, but a Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
Burial will be in Forest Hill Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers in Ted's honor,  please make donations to the Shelbyville/Shelby County
Animal Shelter, in care of the funeral home.
