Betty A. Hoeltke, 88, of Shelbyville, passed away Monday, April 13, 2020
at her residence.
Born July 29, 1931 in Shelby County, she was the daughter of George and
Mary (Murphy) Kuhn. She married George A. Hoeltke on December 19, 1954
and he survives.
Other survivors include a son Jace Hoeltke (wife Delia) of Shelbyville; 2 grand
children; and 3 step great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her
parents, a brother Glenn Kuhn, and 2 sisters- Hazel Parker and Agnes Weingarth.
Mrs. Hoeltke was a lifetime resident of this area, and graduated from Morristown
High School in 1949. She was a home maker and a member of Zion United Church of Christ, where
she started playing piano at age 15, then moved to the organ for several years until
moving to Faith Lutheran Church in Greenfield for 14 years, then again moving to
St. Mark's Lutheran Church in Shelbyville for 25 years, playing the organ in each
of those churches.
Betty enjoyed preparing holiday meals for her family and playing music.
Private funeral services will be held at Glenn E. George & Son Funeral Home,
437 Amos Road, with burial in Forest Hill Cemetery.
