Betty J. Nigh

Betty J. Nigh, 75, of Rushville, passed away Tuesday, February 2, 2021 at
her residence.
Born June 6, 1945 in Waldron, she was the daughter of William Arthur Shoopman
and Margaret (Myers) Shoopman.  She married Lloyd Nigh in 1964 and he preceded
her on December 30, 2016.
Survivors include 2 children- son Steve Nigh (wife Anna) of Rushville, daughter Melody
Ogle of Indianapolis; 8 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren; and her 70 year longtime
friend, Norma Enslin of Shelbyville.  She was preceded in death by her parents, her
spouse, brother Roy Lee Shoopman, and sister Mary Elizabeth Sullivan.
Mrs. Nigh had lived in this area her entire lifetime, and graduated from from Waldron
High School in 1963.  She worked in horticulture for many years, including Roberta's
for 4 years, and was a longtime employee of Cunningham Gardens retiring in 2010.
Betty loved flowers and working with them, and she dearly loved her dog Punkin.
No funeral services will be observed at this time.
