Betty Jean Stohry, 93, of Shelbyville, passed away Sunday, April 11, 2021 at Ashford Place
in Shelbyville.
She was born June 15, 1927 in Shelbyville, the daughter of Tennant and Ruth (Eubank)
Hungerford. She married Willard Bearl Stohry on November 16, 1953 and he preceded her
on April 22, 2012.
Betty is survived by her son Kimble Stohry and wife YongCha of Incheon, South Korea,
daughter Kara Lueck and husband Doug of Mesa Arizona; grandsons Evan Lueck, Enoch
Stohry and wife EunJoo; granddaughters Hannah Stohry, Hosanna Gobert and husband Dayton;
great-granddaughter Evelyn Stohry, and great-grandson Eian Stohry.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and a son Steven Stohry.
Betty graduated in 1945 from Waldron High School. She was a homemaker, a great cook, and
worked for several shops and businesses in Shelbyville over the years.
Betty was quite an accomplished crafter- embroidering, cross-stitching, and knitting afghans. In
her lifetime she knitted over 100 afghans for family, friends, and neighbors. She fearlessly loved
her family, the farm, and her dogs and cats. She was a member of Zion Evangelical Church.
Funeral services will be 2:00 pm on Saturday, April 17, 2021 at Glenn E. George & Son Funeral Home,
437 Amos Road, with Pastor Brad Schultz officiating. Burial will be in Forest Hill Cemetery. Friends
may call on Saturday afternoon from 12:00 noon until the time of the service, at the funeral home.
