Carolyn Waldsmith Obituary

Carolyn Sue Waldsmith, 79, of Shelbyville, passed away Thursday, October 26, 2023 at her home. Born February 16, 1944 in Shelbyville, she was the daughter of Delbert Pittsenbarger and Mildred (Smith) Pittsenbarger. She married William "Bill" Waldsmith on December 3, 1971.  

Survivors include her husband; son, James Edward Waldsmith of Shelbyville; daughter, Leslie Ann Kent ( husband Shawn) of Jacksboro, Texas; and stepdaughter, Gina Kiner of Peru, In. She is also survived by two sisters: Betty Lyle ( Charlie) of Fountaintown and Diane Branson (Mike) of Shelbyville. Carolyn is also survived by 3 grandchildren: Jessie Kent, JT Kent (Annie) and Emily Kent as well as one great grandson Jasper Kent and two step grandsons: Jeremy and Daniel. She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Chris Waldsmith; sister, Janet Howell; and stepson, William J. Waldsmith.

Mrs. Waldsmith had lived in this area most of her life and graduated from Morristown High School.  She retired from Bell Telephone/AT&T. She attended Faith Baptist Church in Morristown. She enjoyed raising horses with her husband Bill and spending time with her grandchildren.

Funeral services will be 12 noon on Monday, October 30, 2023 at Glenn E. George & Son Funeral Home, 437 Amos Road , with burial at Bennett Cemetery.  Friends may call on Monday morning from 10:00 am until the time of the service. Memorial donations may be made to Rays Crossing Christian Union Church in care of the funeral home.
