Charles Kuntz Obituary


Charles E. Kuntz, 92, of Shelbyville, passed away Tuesday, August 20, 2019 at MHP Medical Center.
Born November 18, 1926 in Rush County, he was the son of Fred Kuntz and Florine (Wendling)  Kuntz.  He married Marie D.
(Denny) Kuntz on October 7, 1950, and she survives.
Other survivors include a brother Garnet Kuntz (wife Trudy) of Westport, a sister Ruth Denson (husband Kenneth) of California; and
several nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his parents, 8 brothers and sisters- Melvin
Kuntz, Stan Kuntz, John Kuntz, Maurice Kuntz, Paul Kuntz, Fred Kuntz Jr., Shirley Kuntz, and Kathryn Firsich.
Mr. Kuntz was a lifelong resident of this area, and graduated from Waldron High School.  He had been
a factory worker at Western Electric for 28 years and previously had been employed at Harry Fox & Son
Well Drilling for several years.  He was a  member of Lewis Creek Baptist Church, a former member 
of St. Leon American Legion, and was a US Army veteran.  
Charles enjoyed gardening, playing cards, and fishing in his earlier years.
Funeral services will be 12:00 noon on Saturday, August 24, 2019 at Glenn E. George & Son Funeral Home,
437 Amos Road, with Pastor Harvey Taylor officiating.  Burial will be in Mt. Pisgah Baptist Cemetery.  Friends
may call on Saturday morning at the funeral home from 10:00 am until the time of the service.  A graveside
military service will be conducted by a local veterans organization.
Memorial contributions can be made to Lewis Creek Baptist Church Building Fund in care of the funeral home.
