Christine Chappelow Obituary


Christine Chappelow, 86, of Shelbyville, passed away Monday, November 2, 2020 at Heritage House. 
Born August 20, 1934, in Penick County, Ky, she was the daughter of William and Odie (Mann) Smothers. She married
Clarence "Sonny" Chappelow on December 26, 1951 and he preceded her in death on July 14,2016.
    She is survived by 2 sons: Jeff (Dina) Chappelow of St. Paul and Chad Chappelow of Shelbyville and 2 daughters: Pamela Payne 
of Shelbyville and Connie (Larry) Meece of St. Paul.  Other survivors include 13 grandchildren: Zandria Hopkins, Carina Gleissner,
Christian Chappelow, Alicia Rampoldt, Glydel (Bless) Guerrero, Jeffina Chappelow, Zachary Meece, Leeya Metz, Joshua
Chappelow, Caleb Chappelow, Colin Chappelow, Nicole Nelson, Ashley Chappelow and 17 great grandchildren: Lilly Hopkins, 
Ephram Hopkins, Erik Rampoldt, Lia Isabella Rampoldt, Lily Chappelow, Ellie Metz, Emmy Metz, William Metz, Charlie Meece, Blake Chappelow,
Kerriona Chappelow, Terence Chappelow, Gabriella Chappelow, Daniel Garret Jr., Zaine Chappelow, Addylynn Chappelow, and Ryan Chappelow.
She is also survived by one sister, Polly Smothers of Shelbyville.
  
    She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, brothers John Alvin Smothers, Carl Smothers, John (JB) Smothers Earl 
Smothers, Claude Smothers, and 1 sister, Maude "Judy" Booth. 
Mrs. Chappelow had been a lifelong resident of this area. She was a homemaker and had graduated from Waldron High School.
She was a member of Wesley Chapel Church for 67  years, where she served as song leader, Sunday school treasurer, missionary society president, 
church treasurer and vacation Bible School director during her lifetime.
Christine loved God and her family.  She enjoyed having family gatherings, serving God through her church, cooking, fishing, and gardening.
A private family service will be observed at the Glenn E. George Funeral Home in St. Paul with burial at Van Pelt Cemetery in Waldron.
Memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimers Association in care of the funeral home.
