Coy Benson Chaney Sr., 78, of Carthage, passed away Monday, January 11, 2021
at Heritage House Convalescent Center.
Born July 10, 1942 in Bloss Kentucky, he was the son of George Leonard Chaney
and Dorothy (Hood) Chaney.  
Survivors include 5 children- Bryan Chaney (wife Yan Yan Cui) of Shelbyville, Coy
B. Chaney II of Shelbyville, Misti Moore (husband Richard) of Indianapolis, Brandy
Perigo of Shelbyville, Kristy Lawrence (husband Norman) of London Kentucky; 4
siblings- James Wyatt (wife Patty) of Shelbyville, Carolyn Sue Chaney of Shelbyville,
Ronnie Chaney (wife Anna) of Shelbyville, George Chaney of Shelbyville; 14 grand
children and 6 great grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by his parents, 2
brothers- Niles Chaney, Sherman Chaney, and a sister Donna Chaney.
Mr. Chaney had lived most of his lifetime in this area, and was a US Army veteran,
attaining the rank of Staff SSG.  He owned and operated Chaney Trucking for over
40 years.
Funeral services will be 11:00 am on Saturday, January 16, 2021 at Glenn E. George 
& Son Funeral Home, 437 Amos Road, with Pastor Daniel McDonald officiating.
Burial will be in Miller Cemetery.  Friends may call on Saturday morning at the funeral
home from 10:00 am until the time of the service.  Graveside military rites will follow
the committal service.
