David Duane Marks

David Duane Marks, 71, passed away on September 5, 2023 at Greenwood Healthcare. Born October 12, 1951 in Shelbyville, he was the son of Harry Marks and Katherine Richardson Marks. He married Sherry Martin Marks on June 16, 1970, and she preceded in him death in 2020.

David is survived by his sons: Todd (Kimberly) Marks of New Palestine, and Michael (Jenny) Marks, also of New Palestine and one brother, Richard (Mickie) Marks of Greenwood.  He is also survived by three grandchildren: Sydney, Emme, and Devon.  He was preceded in death by his wife, parents, and a granddaughter, Lauren Nicole Marks. 

David, a lifelong resident of this area, was a graduate of Shelbyville High School. He was an EMT for the Shelbyville Fire Department: he and his wife owned the Pizza Den in Shelbyville. David had also managed Mr.T's in New Palestine and was a salesman for Heritage Automotive. He enjoyed golfing, deep sea fishing, softball and playing poker. 

Funeral service will be Monday, September 11, 2023, at noon at Glenn E. George & Son Funeral Home, 437 Amos Road. Friends may call Monday morning, September 11 from 10:00 am until the time of the service. Memorial contributions may be made to the Riley Children's Hospital in care of the funeral home.
