Obituary

Deborah L. Pile, 67, of Shelbyville, passed away Saturday, May 20, 2023 at St. Francis Hospital.

Born March 22, 1956 in Shelbyville, she was the daughter of Robert Thurston and Ruth (Manning) Thurston.  She married John R. Pile on June 1, 1974 and he survives.  

Other survivors include 3 children- Valerie Wilkins (husband John) of Shelbyville, Matt Pile (Laurie Franasiak) of Jacksonville, Florida, Leann Boldery (husband Cory) of Shelbyville; 4 siblings- Terry Thurston (wife Shirley) of Indianapolis, Ronnie Thurston (wife Deena) of Shelbyville, Sherri Burt (husband Roger) of Franklin; 8 grandchildren-Blaise, Lexy, and Jesse Wilkins, Zoe, Zuri, David,& Ethan Boldery, Camden Franasiak; and a great grandchild who will be arriving shortly. She was preceded in death by her parents.

Mrs. Pile had lived in this area since 1970, after moving from Florida.  She was a self employed child care provider for 20 years and was also a home maker/farm wife for many years. She graduated from Southwestern High School in 1974.

Deborah enjoyed baking, quilting, sewing, and gardening. She loved her grandchildren, and enjoyed spending time with them.

Private funeral services will be held at Glenn E. George & Son Funeral Home, with burial in Miller Cemetery. No visiting hours will be observed.
