Donald Ray Monroe, 83, of Waldron, passed away Tuesday, December 29, 2020
at MHP Medical Center.
Born January 7, 1937 in Shelbyville, he was the son of Carl R. Monroe and Mary E.
(Miller) Monroe. He married Ruth Ann (Brown) Monroe on April 5, 1958 and she
preceded him on February 15, 2017.
Survivors include 2 adopted sons- Mark Monroe (wife Donna) of Morgantown, David
Monroe of Indianapolis; a sister Elizabeth Monroe of Shelbyville; 6 grandchildren, and
3 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, and his spouse.
Mr. Monroe was a lifelong resident of this area, and graduated from Waldron High School
in 1955. He had been a welder at GE/Wellman's where he retired from after many years
of service. He was a member of Waldron Baptist Church and had served in the Indiana
National Guard.
Funeral services will be 11:00 am on Tuesday, January 5, 2021 at Glenn E. George & Son
Funeral Home, 437 Amos Road. Burial will be in Forest
Hill Cemetery. Friends may call on Tuesday morning from 9:00 am until the time of the service.
