Dorothy J. Landwerlen, 92, of Shelbyville, passed away Saturday, August 15, 2020 at MHP Medical Center.
Born October 6, 1927 in Shelbyville, she was the daughter of Floyd and Genevieve (Clark) Coers. She
married John E. Landwerlen in October of 1952 and he preceded her on May 14, 2013.
Survivors include 2 daughters- Patricia Mollenkopf (husband Darrell) of Shelbyville, Michele Bedwell (husband
Rodney) of Shelbyville, one son Jon "Matt" Landwerlen of Cape Canaveral, Florida; 2 sisters- Barbara Sartin
(husband Jim) of Shelbyville, Mary McGuire of Madison, Indiana, 2 brothers- Eddie Coers (wife Sue) of Rushville,
Robert Coers (wife Dotty) of Shelbyville; 5 grandchildren- Sara Goedde, Kim Garner, Ryan Mollenkopf, Marisa
Bedwell, Rebekah Bedwell; and 12 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, spouse,
infant son Jeffrey Landwerlen, and 2 sisters- Virginia Jacobs, and Joan Coers.
Mrs. Landwerlen had lived her entire lifetime in this area, and graduated from Shelbyville High School in 1946.
She had been employed with J.C. Penney as a cashier for 40 years. She was a member of Shelbyville Community Church.
Dorothy enjoyed hosting pool parties, cooking, pranking friends and family, and spending time with her family, grandchildren,
and great grandchildren, who affectionately nicknamed her "Macaroni" because they loved her macaroni and cheese.
Funeral services will be 12:00 noon on Wednesday, August 19, 2020 at Glenn E. George & Son Funeral Home, 437 Amos
Road with Pastor Brad Davis officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Pisgah Cemetery. Friends may call on Wednesday morning,
August 19, 2020 at the funeral home from 10:00 am until the time of the service.
