Dorothy Parsley Obituary


Dorothy Darlene Parsley, 74, of Shelbyville, passed away Friday, August 5, 2022 at MHP Medical Center. Born January 28, 1948 in Indianapolis, she was the daughter of Leonard Griffith 
and Edna E. (Ratekin) Griffith.  She married Peedie A. Parsley and he preceded her on May 17, 1992.

Survivors include a son Kyle Parsley (wife Kelly) of Waldron; 2 sisters- Sandra Hobbs (husband George) of Shelbyville, Elizabeth Callaway of Shelbyville; 3 grandchildren- Kalib Parsley, Konner Parsley, and Kiley Parsley.  She was preceded in death by her parents, her spouse, brothers- David Griffith, Thomas Griffith, Harold Griffith, Edward Griffith, Jay Griffith; and a sister Barbara Barrett.

Mrs. Parsley was a lifelong resident of this area, and attended Shelbyville High School. She had been a factory worker at Admiral Corp. for 10 years, and KCL Corp. for 24 years. She had also worked in the grocery dept at Wal Mart for 10 years. Dorothy enjoyed attending her grandchildren's functions and ball games, and the time she could spend with them.

A Celebration of Life will be from 1:00 until 4:00 pm on Saturday, August 13, 2022 at Glenn E. George & Son Funeral Home, 437 Amos Road.

Memorial contributions can be made to American Lung Assn., or the Alzheimer's  Association, in care of the funeral home.
