Edwin Roy "Jack" Ashcraft, 83, of Shelbyville, passed away Thursday, March 28, 2019
 at Franciscan Health in Indianapolis.
Born February 1, 1936 in Connersville, he was the son of Ray Ashcraft and Lilly (Chaney)
Ashcraft.  He married Janet (Hood) Ashcraft on May 16, 1959 and she preceded him on
September 3, 1994. 
Survivors include a daughter DeAngela Branson (husband Daniel) of Shelbyville; a sister
Aretta Steele (husband Bobby Joe) of Hamilton, Ohio; 3 grandchildren, and 7 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his  parents, spouse, son  Alan Ashcraft, 2 brothers- Glyndon &
Robert "Iggy" Ashcraft, and sisters- in-law Macel Ashcraft and Carolyn Ashcraft.
Mr. Ashcraft had lived in this area since 1972, after moving from Connersville.  He had been 
employed  for many years at Ashcraft Trucking and Blue River Fleet.  He graduated from
Harrisburg High School in Connersville and was a member of American Legion Post#70,
Moose Lodge, Elks Lodge, and the  Eagles Lodge.  He was a US Army veteran, and military
rites will be conducted by  a local veterans organization.
Jack enjoyed golfing, bowling, playing cards, cooking, and spending time with his family
and grandchildren.
Funeral services will be 1:00 pm Monday, April 1, 2019 at Glenn E. George & Son Funeral Home,
437 Amos Road.  Visitation will be observed from 11:00 am until the time of the service.  Burial
will be in Forest Hill Cemetery.
Memorial contributions can be made to Shelby Senior Services, in care of the funeral home.
