Ellen Marie Waltz

Ellen Marie Waltz, 80, of Shelbyville, passed away Thursday, March 9, 2023 at her residence.

Born on March 11, 1942 in Oceola, Arkansas, she was the daughter of Thomas Franklin Rogers and Mary (Morgan) Rogers. She married Glenn D. Waltz on June 22, 1957 and he preceded her on October 19, 2015.

Survivors include 3 children- Michael Dale Waltz of Shelbyville, Eva Jane Hayes (Matt) of New Palestine, and Lisa Ann Owsley of Columbus; siblings-Dale Rogers (Leah) of Texas, Geraldine Forkner of Tipton and Linda Isgrigg (Rick) of Flat Rock; 3 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren; and 1 great-great grandchild. She was preceded in death by her parents, spouse, son Bobby Waltz, grandson James Michael Waltz, 2 great grandchildren Michael & Rebecca Waltz and son in law Cary Owsley.

Mrs. Waltz had lived in this area for 67 years and was a member of Crossroads Community Church. Ellen was a homemaker and enjoyed sewing, cooking, crafting, camping, and was always willing to help anyone with anything they needed.

Funeral services will be 1:00 pm, Tuesday, March 14, 2023 at Glenn E. George & Son Funeral Home, 437 Amos Road, with Pastor Andy Lee officiating. Friends may call on Tuesday morning from 11:00 am until the time of the service. Burial will be in Forest Hill Cemetery.
