Evelyn Newbold Obituary


Evelyn M. Newbold, 85,  passed away Tuesday, October 19, 2021
at Arbor Grove Village in Greensburg.
Born March 13, 1936 in Greenwood, she was the daughter of Raymond
Runshe Sr. and Lucy Lucille (Davis) Runshe. She married Charles Robert
Newbold on December 5, 1955 and he preceded her on July 12, 2010.
Survivors include children- Susan Nickles (Robert) of Shelbyville, Ruth Icenogle
(Wilbur) of Shelbyville, Pam Elliott Smith (John) of St. Paul, Michael Newbold 
(Beverly) of Lexington, MO, Patty Gross (Donnie) of Shirley, IN and William R.
Newbold (Donna) of Waldron; 2 brothers- Raymond Runshe Jr. (Evelyn) of Florida,
William Runshe (Joyce) of Shelbyville; sister- Doris Bedell of Shelbyville; 20
grandchildren, 39 great-grandchildren; and 13 great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, spouse, 2 sisters- Margaret Million,
Edna Itce, 2 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.
Mrs. Newbold had lived in this area her entire lifetime and graduated from 
Boggstown High School in 1954. Evelyn was a bookkeeper at Bob's Sunoco
& Smith's Standard Gas Station for several years, retiring in 1983, she was 
also a homemaker, member of Mt. Gilead Baptist Church since 1966 and was
a member of Joseph Boggs Historical Society, Blind Veterans Association
Auxiliary and Mt. Gilead American Baptist Society. Evelyn loved fishing, quilting,
working jigsaw puzzles and watching Jeopardy on TV. She enjoyed her family
and grandchildren, and spending time with them.
Funeral services will be 10:00 am, Monday, October 25, 2021 at Mt. Gilead
Baptist Church, 4449 S. Smithland Rd, Shelbyville, with Pastor Bryan
Trotter officiating. Friends may call on Sunday, October 24, 2021 from
4:00-8:00pm at Glenn E. George & Son Funeral Home, 437 Amos Rd.
Burial will be in Miller Cemetery.
Memorial contributions can be made to Mt. Gilead Baptist Church in care
of the funeral home.
