Francis Applegate Jr. Obituary


Francis Marion "Frank" Applegate, Jr., 69, of Shelbyville, passed away Wednesday,
August 12, 2020 in Morris County, Texas.
Born October 1, 1950 in Shelbyville, he was the son of Francis M. Applegate Sr. and
Martha J. (Sweet) Applegate.  He married Sylvia (Wolf) Applegate on July 21, 1984 and
she survives.
Other survivors include 2 daughters- Jennifer Cupp (husband Jason) of MIchigan, 
Elizabeth Conkright (husband Troy) of Crawfordsville, 2 sons- Matthew Wright (wife
Elizabeth) of Bunker Hill, Illinois, Todd Wright of Shelbyville; sister Sharon K. Hauk
 (husband Larry) of Texas; and one grandchild- Eoin Conkright.  He was preceded in
death by his parents, and a sister Karis Applegate.
Mr. Applegate was a lifetime resident of this area, and graduated from Shelbyville High
School in 1968, and Ball State University in 1971.  He had attended Evangelical United
Methodist Church, and retired from Honda Manufacturing of Indiana in 2017 after 10 years 
of service.  Prior to Honda, he had been employed in sales for many years, with several 
different companies.
Frank loved watching sports, listening to music, reading, his family, and especially his
wife Sylvia.
Funeral services will be 12:00 noon on Friday, August 28, 2020 at Glenn E. George & Son
Funeral Home, 437 Amos Road, with Pastor Tony Meads officiating.  Burial will be in Pleasant
Grove Cemetery.  Friends may call on Friday morning, August 28th from 10:00 am until the
time of the service. 
Memorial contributions can be made to American Cancer Association, in care of the funeral home.
