George Wampler Obituary


George C. Wampler, 84, of Fairland, passed away Friday, January 8, 2021
at Ashford Place Health Campus.
Born July 6, 1936 in Norton Virginia, he was the son of George M. Wampler
and Bertha (Robinette) Wampler.  He married Geneva L. (Ward) Wampler on
June 9, 1956 and she preceded him on June 5, 2020.
Survivors include 2 sons- Mike Wampler (wife Kathy) of Shelbyville, Randy Wampler
(wife Sylvia) of Franklin; 3 grandchildren- Amy Beaver (husband Chad), Kyle Wampler
(wife Sabrina), Kristin Mohr (husband Joe); and 9 great grandchildren.  He was preceded
in death by his parents, his spouse, 3 brothers- Sidney, Frank, and Carlos, and a sister
Phyllis.
Mr. Wampler had lived in this area for over 60 years, after moving from Kentucky.  He 
graduated from Benham High School in Benham Kentucky, and had been employed with
Ford Motor Company, retiring after over 40 years of service.
George enjoyed bowling, gardening, the outdoors, and loved helping his family and grandchildren,
attending their sporting events, and spending time with them.
Funeral services will be Wednesday, January 13, 2021 at 1:00 pm at Glenn E. George & Son
Funeral Home, 437 Amos Road, with burial in Forest Hill Cemetery.  Friends may call on Tuesday
evening, January 12, 2021 from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm, or on Wednesday morning from 12:00 noon
until the time of the service.
Memorial contributions can be made to Who So Ever Will Community Church (Youth Group), 623 S. Eisenhower Dr.,
Edinburgh, Indiana 46124.
