Gladys I. Clay, 99, of Shelbyville, passed away Friday, March 19, 2021 at
Walker Place.
Born January 10, 1922 in Litchfield Township, Michigan, she was the daughter
of Ernest Wade and Virgie (Harrier) Wade. She married Thomas Keith Clay on
April 21, 1946, and he preceded her on August 8, 2014.
Survivors include 4 children- Mary Armstrong of Morristown, Jeffrey T. Clay (wife
Cindy) of Shelbyville, Jennifer M. Kiesel (husband William) of Greenwood, Joseph W.
Clay (wife Judy) of Shelbyville; 13 grandchildren, and 9 great grandchildren. She was
preceded in death by her parents, her spouse, 3 brothers, 1 sister, and 1 grandson-
Kyle Clay.
Mrs. Clay had lived in this area since 1964, after moving from Richmond Indiana.
She was a home maker, and had graduated from high school in Litchfield, and was a
member of First United Methodist Church of Shelbyville.
Gladys loved birds and dogs, crocheting, gardening and canning, camping, and
reading.
Private graveside services will be observed. Burial will be in Park Cemetery in Greenfield.
Visitation will be on Thursday afternoon, March 25, 2021 from 4:00 pm until 7:00 pm at
Glenn E. George & Son Funeral Home, 437 Amos Road.

the funeral home.
