Helen M. Gilles

Helen M. Gilles, 95, of Shelbyville, passed away Sunday, December 19, 2021
at Ashford Place Health Campus.
Born July 11, 1926 in Rush County, she was the daughter of Charles Milton
Clapp and Edith (Miller) Clapp.  She married Joseph Gilles on August 6, 1949 
and he preceded her on March 21, 2004.
Survivors include a son Rick Gilles; several nieces and nephews, including
Brenda Wiley of Waldron; and several grandchildren.  She was preceded in death
by her parents, her spouse, a son Tim Gilles, 3 brothers and 1 sister.
Mrs. Gilles was a lifelong resident of this area, and graduated from Milroy High School.
She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, and was a home maker.
Helen enjoyed working word search puzzles, playing games at the nursing home,
and her morning Bible reading.
Funeral services will be 11:00 am on Thursday, December 23, 2021 at Glenn E. George
& Son Funeral Home, 437 Amos Road, with Rev. David Humphrey officiating.  Burial will
be in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery.  Friends may call on Thursday morning from 10:00 am
until the time of the service.  
Memorial contributions can be made to OUR Hospice of South Central Indiana, in care of
the funeral home.
