Isaac David Sheek, 84, of Shelbyville, passed away Monday, May 16, 2022 at his residence. Born July 30, 1937 in Greenwood, he was the son of Daniel Walter Sheek II and Edna Elizabeth (Stevenson) Sheek.
He married Marilyn S. (South) Sheek on September 23, 1962 and she survives. Other survivors include a son Matthew David Sheek (wife Toni) of Whiteland, a daughter Ann Warren (husband Tom) of Steven's Point, Wisconsin; brother James Mark Sheek (wife Linda) of Indianapolis, sister Elizabeth Ann Harpring of Bloomington Indiana; 3 grandchildren- Matthew Paul Sheek, Zoe Rose Warren, & Nathan Thomas Warren; 2 step grandchildren- Whitney Hardacre and Bonnie Prince. He was preceded in death by his parents, and 2 brothers- Daniel Walter Sheek III, and Thomas C. Sheek.
Mr. Sheek had lived in Shelbyville for 43 years, after residing in Greewood for 31 years. He had been a switching equipment installer for AT&T for 35 years, retiring in 1991. He graduated
from Greenwood High School in 1956, and was a member of Greenwood Christian Church where he taught Sunday School for a time. He was a member of Central Indiana Bicycle Association, and Capital District Christian Men's Fellowship, where he served as an officer. He was a US Army veteran. David was an avid bicyclist in his later years, logging up to 5,000 miles per year of riding. His faith was very important to him, and attending church was of utmost priority.
Funeral services will be 2:00 pm on Friday, May 20, 2022 at Glenn E. George & Son Funeral Home, 437 Amos Road, with Pastor David Strange officiating. Burial will be in Miller Cemetery.Friends may call on Friday morning, May 20th, from 12:00 noon until the time of the service. A military graveside service will be conducted by the American Legion Memorial Squad.
