James W. Kroening

James W. Kroening, 47, of Shelbyville, passed away Thursday, September 28, 2023 at his residence.

Born July 17, 1976 in Shelbyville, he was the son of James C. Kroening and Pamela (Mitchell) Kelly.  

Survivors include a sister- Amy Sayers of Shelbyville; and 2 nephews- Mason Sayers and Drew Sayers, both of Shelbyville.  He was preceded in death by his mother.

Mr. Kroening had lived in this area his entire lifetime, and graduated from Southwestern High School. He was employed for several years in guest service at the local Comfort Inn motel. James enjoyed reading, cooking, operating remote vehicles and flying drones. He was an avid Grateful Dead fan..

Services will be 6:00 pm on Friday, October 6, 2023 at Glenn E. George & Son Funeral Home, 437 Amos Road, with Ronnie Mays officiating. Friends may call on Friday evening from 4:00 pm until the time of the service.
