Janice McIntire Obituary


Janice R. McIntire, 81, of Waldron, passed away Wednesday, March 25,2020
at MHP Medical Center.
Born December 1,1938 in Shelby County, she was the daughter of Frank and
Justine (Creek) Davis Moore. She married Allen L. McIntire on November 11,1956
and he survives.
Other survivors include children- Barbara Weston (husband Paul) of Greensburg,
Jerry McIntire (wife Beverly) of Shelbyville, Roger McIntire (fiancé Brenda) of Waldron,
Darin McIntire (wife Roxanne) of Marietta, Rodney McIntire (wife Rachel) of Kankakee, IL,
siblings-Norma Reedy (husband Dale) of Cambridge, OH, Jane Mefford (husband Wes)
of Trinway, OH, grandchildren-Aaron, Jonathon & Benjamin Boggs, Nathan, Jeremy, & 
Brad McIntire, Brandon & Blake McIntire, Nathan & Noah Whitlock, 8 great grand children-
Adeline, Annalee, Amelia, Ava, Brycen, Kaylan, Vivian & Carson.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brother Jim Davis.
Mrs. McIntire had lived in this area her entire lifetime. She had been a substitute teacher
at Waldron Elementary School for 20 + years and was a homemaker. She attended Shelbyville
High School. Janice was a member of First Church of the Nazarene of Shelbyville, where
she received the Distinguished Service Award (the highest award for laymen), and was 
a longtime Sunday School & children's church teacher at Shelbyville and in Florida
when they wintered there.
Private services will be held at Glenn E. George & Son Funeral Home, 437 Amos Rd,
on Saturday, March 28,2020 at 1:00pm. Visitation will be on Friday, March 27,2020
at the funeral home from 4:00-8:00pm. Due to health regulations, only 10 people
will be allowed at a time. Pastor John Wessic will be officiating. Burial will be in
Van Pelt Cemetery. Memorials can be made to Palliative Care Program of MHP
Medical Center. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date after the pandemic is over. 
Janice loved children, birds, flowers, traveling, camping & fishing. She was not only  a mother
to 5 of her own children, but also a mother to hundreds of other children she babysat
for and also others she taught at church and at Waldron school. She was affectionally
known to her child care children as Mommy McIntire and at the school she was known
as Grandma McIntire.

 

Addition to Obiturary:
A Celebration of Life for Janice R. McIntire, of Waldron, who passed away on
March 25, 2020 will be held from 2:00 until 4:00 pm on Saturday, August 28, 2021 
at Shelbyville Church of the Nazarene, Family Ministries Center, 2315 S. Riley
Highway, Shelbyville Indiana.

drinks will be served.
