Joan Hadler Obituary


Joan D. Hadler, 88, of Greensburg, passed away Saturday, August 10, 2019 at
Aspen Place Health Campus.
Born September 17, 1930 in Shelbyville, she was the daughter of Stephan Scott and
Helen (Williams) Scott.  She married David L. Hadler on February 14, 1976 and he 
preceded her on December 18, 2016.
Survivors include 5 children: Marnie Boyd (husband Tom) of Shelbyville, Terri Hill 
(husband Chris) of Shelbyville, Steve Sheaffer (wife Jill) of Waldron, Kathy Kurtz
(husband Fred) of Avon, Garry Hadler of Greensburg; 14 grandchildren- Alex Hill
(wife Andrea), Nick Hill, Alayna Kramer (husband Tyler), Jayna Britt (husband
Branden), Caroline, Caden, Cendall & Caige Sheaffer, Kyle & Eric Boyd, 
Matthew Kurtz (wife Jamie), Michael Kurtz, Nick Hadler, Scott Hadler; and 7 great grandchildren.  
She was preceded in death by her parents and her spouse.
Mrs. Hadler had lived in this area her entire lifetime and had worked as a legal
secretary for several local law firms for several years.  She graduated from Fairland
High School in 1949, was a devout Christian and a member of Mt. Pisgah Baptist
Church.
Joan loved her family and especially enjoyed the time spent with her grandchildren.
Funeral services will be 12:00 noon on Wednesday, August 14, 2019 at Glenn E. George 
& Son Funeral Home, 437 Amos Road, with Dr. Robb Barlow officiating.  Burial will be in Van Pelt Cemetery.
Visitation will be observed from 10:00 am until the time of the service.  
In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church, in care of the 
funeral home.
