Joe Morgan Allen, 90, of Shelbyville, passed away Saturday, May 9, 2020
at Community North.
Born September 24,1929 in Russellville, Kentucky, he was the son of Joe Allen
and Mabel (Redmond) Allen. He married Rebecca JoAnn (Parker) Allen on
December 29,1956 and she preceded him on March 5,2020.
Survivors include children-Donnie Joe Allen of Indianapolis, Beverly Ann Cristofori
of Shelbyville, Barbara Sue Green (husband David) of Shelbyville, Bonnie Jean Allen
of Shelbyville; siblings-Bob Allen of Louisville Kentucky, Tom Allen (wife Marcia) of 
Louisville, John Allen (wife Marguirette) of Louisville, sister-Juanita Madison of
Bowling Green, KY; grandchildren-Crystal Ortel (husband Chad), Heather Oyerbides
(husband Richard), Amanda Sasher, Cory Bennett, April Stevens, Michelle Overton
(husband Jake), Aaron Schofner; 8 great grandchildren and 1  great great grandchild.
He was preceded in death by his parents, spouse, sister Betty Druin, 2 brothers Ray &
Glen Allen and grandson Jacob Allen.
Mr. Allen had lived in this area since 1955 after moving from Kentucky, and  graduated
from Franklin High School in Kentucky.   Joe had been employed with Chrysler Corp. for
30 plus years and retired in 1988. He was a US Army veteran.
Joe enjoyed farming, gardening, piddling, riding his bicycle, helping his neighbors,
and being a good neighbor.
Funeral services will be 1:00 pm on Friday, May 15, 2020 at Glenn E. George & Son
Funeral Home, 437 Amos Road, with Rev. David Humphrey officiating. Burial will be
in Miller Cemetery. Friends may call on Friday morning from 11:00 am until the time
of the service.
Memorial contributions can be made to Alzheimer's Association, in care of the funeral
home.
