John D. Stoops

John D. Stoops, 71 of Franklin, IN formerly of Boggstown, IN passed away March 11,2022 at his residence.

He was born November 4,1950 in Boggstown, IN the son of the late Ralph Stoops and Mildred (Padrick) Stoops. John was a 1969 graduate of Triton Central High School. He was a truck driver working 40 years as a Teamster's trucker.

John was preceded in death by his parents and siblings, Carl and James Stoops, Anna Perew and Judy Dunham. He is survived by his companion, Cathy Schwarzkopf; his brother, William Stoops of The Philippines; several nieces and nephews and great nieces.

He enjoyed his family, loved to travel and also target shooting. He loved to talk to people and never met a stranger.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Shelby County Animal Shelter.

A Memorial Gathering of friends will be Thursday, March 31,2022 from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm in Glenn E. George and Son Funeral Home, Shelbyville, IN. A Celebration of Life for John will be on Thursday, March 31, 2022 at 7:00 pm in Glenn E. George and Son Funeral Home.
