John B. "Peanut" Wethington Jr., 67, of Shelbyville, passed away
Wednesday, July 14, 2021 at Waldron Health & Rehab.
Born November 15, 1953 in Shelbyville, he was the son of John B. Wethington
and Ona Evelyn (Meadows) Wethington.
Survivors include a son Scott Russell of Amity, and daughter Annette Dunn of
Prince's Lakes; 5 siblings- Sharon Rice of Nineveh, Norma Watson of Nineveh,
Terry Wethington of Nineveh, Roger Wethington of Waldron, and Mike Wethington
of Nineveh. He was preceded in death by his parents, 3 brothers- Ricky Wethington,
Joe Wethington, and Danny Wethington.
Mr. Wethington was a lifetime resident of this area and attended Edinburgh High School.
He was a truck driver with CRST Trucking of Indianapolis for 6 years, and earlier drove for
Cloyd's Trucking of Franklin for 18 years. He also tended bar at Adam's Corner Bar
in Franklin for several years. He was a US Army veteran.
John enjoyed traveling, being in the company of children, and spending time with his family.
Funeral services will be 1:00 pm on Monday, July 19, 2021 at Glenn E. George &
Son Funeral Home, 437 Amos Road, with Pastor Max Downs officiating. Burial
will be in Hamner Cemetery in Amity, Johnson County Friends may call on Monday
morning, July 19, 2021 from 11:00 am until the time of the service.
