Joyce Darlene Lochard, 76, of Avon, passed away Thursday, January 6, 2022
at her residence.
Born June 5, 1945 in Columbus, she was the daughter of Earl Pittman and
Naomi (Mullis) Pittman. She married Ray Lochard on September 11, 1965 and he preceded
her in 2011.
Survivors include a son Troy Lochard (wife Pam) of Shelbyville, a daughter-
Tracy Rausch (husband Ed) of Avon; 2 brothers- John Pittman of Shelbyville,
Terry Pittman (wife Jackie) of Shelbyville; 7 grandchildren- Dustin Baker, Nick
Lochard (wife Sarah), Dillon Lochard (wife Monisha), Ryan Lochard, Jonah Lochard,
Gannon Rausch, Evan Rausch; 2 great grandchildren- Wyatt Baker and Joycie Baker.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her spouse, 3 brothers- Ralph, Jerry, and
Robert Pittman, 2 sisters- Dorothy Pittman and Joan Logan.
Mrs. Lochard had lived in Avon since 2010, after moving from Shelbyville. She had
been a document specialist with NNC Group/Stericycle for several years, a dance
studio photography salesperson, and an accomplished home maker. In earlier years, she had worked
at Overhead Door Corp. and The Garment Factory for a while.
Joyce was a loving and kind mother, grandmother, and great grandmother who
enjoyed spending time with her family. She was a resilient woman with a deep belief in her
Savior Jesus Christ. She enjoyed having friendly conversation with all who encountered
her, spoiling her grandchildren, watching the news, Wheel of Fortune and Jeopardy, and
playing the slots at the casino.
Funeral services will be 1:00pm on Saturday, January 15, 2022 at Glenn E. George & Son
Funeral Home, 437 Amos Road, with Rev. Dennis Hirschauer officiating. Burial will be in
Van Pelt Cemetery. Friends may call on Saturday morning from 11:00 am until the time
of the service.
