Kathie Miller Obituary


Kathie J. "Jody" Miller, 69, of Shelbyville, passed away Saturday, May 1, 2021 at her residence.
Born March 26, 1952 in Shelbyville, she was the daughter of Eugene L. Bryer and Lois K. "Barney"
(Barnet) Bryer.  She married Jack G. Miller on June 9, 1973 and he survives.
Other survivors include a son- Bradley M. Miller (wife Rebecca) of Flat Rock; daughter- Kelli M. Miller
of Shelbyville; sister- Leann B. Tekorius (husband Tony) of Greenwood; and a grandson Brady L. Miller
of Flat Rock.  She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother Eugene W. Bryer, grandmother-
Opal Bryer, and grandparents Chester and Fannetta Barnet.
Mrs. Miller was a lifelong resident of this area, graduated from Shelbyville High School in 1970, and
attended Thornton Haymond Lab School in Indianapolis. She had been employed as a lab tech with Inlow Clinic, 
Major Hospital, and Madison Avenue Lab for 36 years, retiring in 2008.  She was a member of West Street
Methodist Church, and  a member of American Society of Clinical Pathologists
Jody enjoyed camping and vacations at the beach, and spending time with family and friends.  She had a heart
of gold and was always there for anyone who needed her.  Her faith was strong, her laugh contagious, and
her love was unconditional.  
The family would like to thank Bettye, Elizabeth, and nurse Kayla for their loving care.
A graveside service at Forest Hill Cemetery will be held at a later date.  Pastor Tony Meads will officiate.
Memorial contributions can be made to the Multiple Sclerosis Research, Hospice of South Central Indiana,
or the Donor's Choice of Charity, in care of the funeral home.
