Katrina Hammersley Obituary


Katrina Lou "Tina" Hammersley, 74, of Shelbyville, passed away Sunday, April 11, 2021 at
Eskenazi Hospital in Indianapolis.
Born December 26, 1946 in Indianapolis, she was the daughter of Theodore Charles Clements
and Janet (Mitchell) Clements.  She married Mickey Hammersley on February 7, 1987 and he
survives.
Other survivors include 2 daughters- Julie Benefiel (husband Joseph) of Shelbyville, Teola
Hornaday of Shelbyville; a sister Teola Carmony of Shelbyville; sister in law Sue Clements of Shelbyville; one granddaughter- Jessica
Benefiel; 2 great grandsons- Jacob Eldridge, and Joshua Boucher.  She was preceded in death
by her parents, an infant daughter Idalynn Hornaday, and a brother Buddy Clements.
Mrs. Hammersley was a lifelong resident of this area, and had been employed as a attendant
at Colonial Laundry for several years.  She graduated from Manilla High School in 1964, and was
a member of Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church.
Tina enjoyed crafting, sewing, cross stitching, diamond art, butterflies, planting flowers, attending Bible Study,
traveling to Florida, witnessing to others about her faith, and spending time with her family and 
grandchildren.
Funeral services will be 12:00 noon on Thursday, April 15, 2021 at Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church,
3718 E. Blue Ridge Road, with Pastor Robb Barlow officiating.  Burial will be in Manilla Cemetery.
Friends may call on Thursday morning at the church from 10:00 am until the time of the service.
Memorial contributions can be made to the Shelby County Cancer Association, in care of the 
funeral home.
