Kevin D. Poling

Kevin D. Poling, 59, of Greensburg, passed away peacefully Thursday, March 4, 2021 at IU Health Methodist Hospital. Born July 27, 1961 in Bluffton, Indiana to Rev. Eston E. Poling, Jr. & Loretta F. Poling (Clark), who preceded him in death. Kevin is survived by his wife Sherry Poling (Wagner), children Heidi (Matthew) Massingale, Erik (Brittany) Poling, Emily (Brock) McCarter, & Molly Poling, his six grandchildren: Lillian, Emma, Ruby, Eston, Eleanor & Nellie, as well as siblings - Darrell Poling; Brian (Amy) Poling; and Cheryl Denise (Terry) Wagner, all of Greensburg. Several nieces and nephews also survive.

Kevin graduated from Winchester High School in Winchester, IN in 1979. He moved to Greensburg in 1985, worked at James River (Printpack) until their closure. He most recently worked at OSL in Greensburg.

On April 4, 1992 Kevin married Sherry Wagner, the love of his life, his best friend and partner in life. For the last 29 years they have enjoyed every moment together and raising their beautiful family. They have truly cherished the last 16 years being loved as Papaw and Mimi. Being Papaw to his six grandchildren was one of the greatest joys of his life.

Kevin was an avid fisherman who never failed to bait a hook or untangle a line for his kids and grandkids. He was a talented singer, musician, and gospel music lover. He spent most of his 59 years ministering to others through music, including singing with his brothers, leading choirs, and as a music minister and worship leader. His greatest joy was passing on and sharing his talent with his four children. He was widely known throughout the state of Indiana as a member of the Poling Brothers trio with his brothers, Brian and Darrell. Kevin's baritone voice was flawless, his pitch always perfect, and his tone exceptional. He will be remembered for his compassion and care, his humor, and his dedication to family and to God.

Visitation will take place Monday, March 8 from 4pm to 8pm at Bethel Apostolic Church, 630 W. Hendricks St, Greensburg, IN.Funeral services will be Tuesday, March 9 at 11am, also at Bethel Apostolic Church, with Pastor Todd Smith and Rev. Glenn Seaman officiating. Burial will be in South Park Cemetery.
