Margaret Hughes Obituary


Margaret Hughes, 82, of Shelbyville, passed away Tuesday, January 12, 2021
at Ashford Place Health Campus.
Born March 24, 1938 in Monticello Indiana, she was the daughter of William
Rumple and Etta Mae (Loveall) Rumple.  She married Donald Hughes on
February 9, 1957 and he survives.
Other survivors include 2 daughters- Diana Powell of Shelbyville, Sherri Buchli 
(husband Bernie) of Whitewater, Wisconsin; 3 grandchildren- Alanna Dolinski 
(husband Kyle), Zachery Powell (wife Kaylla), Nicole Pavlatos; and 7 great
grandchildren- Cora, Kelby, Clara, & Kennedy Altic, Everett & Oliver Dolinski,
and Daxton Powell.  She was preceded in death by her parents, a sister Barbara 
Byer, a daughter Susan Hughes, and grandson Anthony Pavlatos.
Mrs. Hughes had lived in this area for 25 years, after moving from Illinois.  She 
graduated from Flat Rock High School in 1956,   was a member of Flat Rock
Christian Church, and a 50 year member of Flat Rock Order of Eastern Star. She
had been employed as a secretary, bank teller, and office manager for many years.
Margaret cherished the time spent with her family, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be 1:00 pm on Monday, January 18, 2021 at Glenn E. George
& Son Funeral Home, 437 Amos Road, with Dale Whitis officiating.  Burial will be in
Flat Rock Cemetery.  Friends may call on Monday morning from 11:00 am until the 
time of the service.
Memorial contributions can be made to OUR Hospice of South Central Indiana, in
care of the funeral home.
