Marian Westermann Obituary


Marian R. Westermann, 87, of Shelbyville, passed away Sunday, December 29, 2019
at Ashford Place Health Campus.
Born November 20, 1932 in Roseville, Michigan, she was the daughter of William Hernden
and Mabel (Clark) Hernden.  She married Charles A. Westermann on April 29, 1950 and he
preceded her on November 28, 2002.
Survivors include a son Andrew Westerman (wife Marcia) of Indianapolis, 2 daughters- Linda
Merkel (husband Wilfred) of Texas, Joanne Miller of Shelbyville; 9 grandchildren, and 8 great
grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by her parents, spouse, sons John Westermann, 
& Charles T. Westermann, and a daughter Christina Bottoms.
Mrs. Westermann had lived in this area since 1950, after moving from Michigan.  She retired
from Wal Mart in 2009, after several years of service.  She attended high school in Roseville,
and was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church.
Marian enjoyed sewing and reading.
A Mass of Christian Burial will 11:00 am on Friday, January 3, 2020 at St. Joseph Catholic
Church, 125 E. Broadway St. with Rev. Mike Keucher officiating.  Burial will be in St. Joseph
Catholic Cemetery.  Visitation will be observed on Thursday afternoon, January 2, 2020 from
4:00 pm until 6:00 pm at Glenn E. George & Son Funeral Home,  437 Amos Road.
In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Wheeler Mission, in care of the funeral home.
