Marjorie Long Obituary


Marjorie Mary "Marge" Long, 83, of Shelbyville, passed away Wednesday,
June 30, 2021 at her residence.
Born August 14, 1937 in Shelby County, she was the daughter of Albert Ernstes
and Florence (Holderith) Ernstes.  She married John R. Long on September 22, 1956
and he preceded her on July 5, 2008.
Survivors include 6 children- Angela Barker of Greenwood, Gary Long (wife Tamara) of
Fishers, Sandra Long (husband Bob) of Indianapolis, Pamela Mick (husband Dave) of
Hamilton Ohio, John E. Long of Greenfield, Dee Ann Miller of Milton Florida; a sister
Jeri Sullivan (husband Roger) of Villa Park California; 14 grandchildren, and 4 great
grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by her parents, her spouse, 2 brothers-
Benny & Bud Ernstes, 2 sisters- Alberta Runnebohm, and infant Evelyn Ernstes.
Mrs. Long was a lifetime resident of this area, and graduated from  Waldron High 
School in 1955. She was a home maker and had been  a teacher's aide
at Major Kindergarten for 15 years.  She was a member of St. Vincent Catholic
Church, St. Anne's Alter Society, MADD, Knights of Columbus, and the American
Legion of Shelbyville.
Marge enjoyed gardening, sewing, cooking, and spending time with her family and
grandchildren.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be 12:00 noon on Monday, July 5, 2021 at St. Vincent
de Paul Catholic Church, 4218 E. Michigan Road, with Rev. Paul Landwerlen officiating.. Friends may call
on Monday from 10:00 am until 11:45 at Glenn E. George & Son Funeral Home, 437
Amos Rd. Burial will be in St. Vincent Catholic Cemetery. Memorial contributions can
be made to Alzheimer's Association in care of the funeral home.
