Mary Jones Obituary

Mary Jean Jones, 99, of Shelbyville, passed away Monday, April 29, 2019 at Ashford Place Health Campus.
Born December 27, 1919, in Fairland, Indiana she was the daughter of Ortis Calvin & Elnora (Arnold) Huber.
She married James Edward Jones on July 18, 1941 and he preceded her in 1989.
Survivors include 3 children- James Jones of Shelbyville, Carol (husband David) Graves of Delta, Alabama;
Janet Riggs of Shelbyville, sibling Richard Huber of Shelbyville, 10 grandchildren, 38 great grand children
and 16 great great grand children. She was preceded in death by 2 brothers, 4 sisters, 1 grandson and 1
great grandson.
Mrs. Jones had lived in this area her entire lifetime, and had graduated from Shelbyville High School. 
She was a member of the First Christian Church of Shelbyville and was a homemaker, Mary worked for
several years as a Deputy Auditor for Shelby County , and had worked as a volunteer for the Major
Hospital gift shop.
Mary Jean enjoyed golfing, euchre, bowling, reading, but most of all loved spending time with her family.
Funeral Services will be 10:00 am, Friday, May 3, 2019, at Glenn E. George & Son Funeral Home, 437 Amos
Rd. with Rev. William C. Horner officiating. Visitation will be Thursday, May 2, 2019 from 6-8:00 pm.
Burial will be in Miller Cemetery.
Memorial contributions can be made to Shelby County Cancer Association, in care of the funeral home.
