Mary Lou Moore

Mary Lou Moore, 90, of Shelbyville, passed away Sunday, October 8, 2023 at Morristown Manor.

Born August 12, 1933 in Rush County, she was the daughter of Fletcher McDaniel and Martha (Myers) McDaniel.  She married George Moore on April 8, 1951 and he preceded her on March 25, 2015.

Survivors include a son Jeff Moore (wife Cindy) of Cape Coral, Florida,  a daughter Nancy Bassett (husband Bill) of Shelbyville; a sister Rowena Curry of Shelbyville, 9 grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren,7 great great grandchildren; and her cat TC. She was preceded in death by her parents, her spouse, and an infant baby sister.

Mrs. Moore was a lifelong resident of this area, and attended Shelbyville High School.

She was a member of Ray's Crossing Christian Union Church, and had been employed as an operator/supervisor with Indiana Bell/AT&T, retiring with over 40 years of service.

Mary Lou enjoyed playing Bingo at the nursing home. drawing, playing the violin, flowers and gardening, and dearly loved her cat TC.

Funeral services will be 10:30 am on Thursday, October 12, 2023at Glenn E. George & Son Funeral Home, 437 Amos Road, with Pastor Keith Dover officiating.  Burial will be in Bennett Cemetery. Friends may call on Wednesday evening, October 11, 2023 from 4:00 until 8:00 pm, at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions can be made to Ray's Crossing Christian Union Church, or Shelby County Humane Society, in care of the funeral home.
