Obituary


Mary E. Slevin, 66, of Edinburgh, passed away Wednesday, April 20, 2022 at her residence. Born March 18, 1956 in Muskegon, Michigan, she was the daughter of
Walter Sheffer and Helen (Winoweski) Sheffer. She married Gene A. Slevin on May 3, 1980 and he survives.

Survivors include 10 children- Mike Deater (wife Lori) of Edinburgh, Wendy Hartwell (husband Jeff) of Shelbyville, Ryan Slevin (wife Erin) of Franklin, William Allen Slevin (wife Tammy) of Shelbyville, Steve Slevin (wife Laura) of Texas, Amanda Carlton (husband Harlan) of Texas, Iris Bachman (husband Solomon) of Texas, Gene Slevin Jr. (wife Farrah) of Texas, Valeria Slevin ( David Bowling) of Florida, Dustin Slevin (wife Cassi) of Florida; 4 siblings- Gene Sheffer (wife Celia) of Michigan, Don Sheffer (wife Margaret) of Michigan, Linda Zimonich of
Michigan, Karen Muskovin (husband Dave) of Michigan; 25 grandchildren and several great-grand children. She was preceded in death by her parents.

Mrs. Slevin lived in this area since 1978 after previously moving from Michigan. She attended High School in Michigan and was a member of Lewis Creek Wesleyan Church. She had been employed as  a manager at Burger Chef and Hardee's for 20 plus years, retiring in 1997. Mary enjoyed camping, fishing, and spending time with her family.

Funeral services will be 10:30 am, Tuesday, April 26, 2022 at Glenn E. George & Son Funeral Home, 437 Amos Rd, with Pastor David Gates officiating. Burial will be in Patterson Cemetery. Friends may call on Monday evening, April 25, 2022 from 4:00-7:00 pm at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions can be made to Flat Rock or Marietta Volunteer Fire Dept. in care of the funeral home.
