Maurice Melvin Griffith

Maurice Melvin Griffith, 83 of Shelbyville, IN passed away at his residence on April 1, 2022. He was born January 8, 1939 in Shelbyville, IN the son of the late Maurice C. and Mary A. (Ray) Griffith.

Melvin, as many knew him, married his love Lois A. (Kaster) Griffith on December 30,1962 and were married for 59 years. Melvin was a self-employed house painter; Griffith Painting. and worked 57 years. He attended Shelbyville Senior High School. He was a faithful member of the Apostolic Tabernacle Church, Shelbyville, IN since 1962. Melvin loved his church, family and grandchilldren. He loved to fish and hunt. His favorite Bible scripture was Jeremiah 17:14.

Melvin was preceded in death by his parents, his siblings, Shirley Skillman, Dora Scott, Jerry Griffith, Nancy Nigh and Michael Griffith. He is survived by wife, Lois A. (Kaster) Griffith; daughter, Rebekah "Becky" (Larry) Justice of Shelbyville, IN and several nieces and nephews; his grandchildren, Rebekah "Bekah" Bukea, Melvin Justice and great granddaughter, Rilynn Marie Bukea.

Funeral services will be on Saturday, April 9, 2022 at 1:00 PM in Apostolic Tabernacle Church, 1500 Miller Ave., Shelbyville, IN. where Pastor Daniel McDonald will officiate. Visitation will be from 10AM until service time at the church. Burial will be in Lewis Creek Cemetery, Shelby County.
